Ad for Kelly Ayotte touts her as a fighter for "birth control and mammograms"

Karl Rove's American Crossroads is spending big bucks to support New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte's reelection. As a RINO with an "F" rating from Conservativereview.com, she is an ideal tool for the Chamber of Commerce's agenda. But the ad he produced looks and sounds very much like a Hillary Clinton ad.

The ad starts by talking about how Ayotte is working with Senators "of both parties" to increase funding for breast cancer research. Swell. Is this the primary reason New Hampshire sent Ayotte to the US Senate, to push for breast cancer reseach funding? Is it one of the top ten reasons?
The saccharine voice in the ad says that Ayotte also "protected annual mammogram screenings for women". I was unaware that anyone was trying to prevent women from having mammograms. Are there angry picketers outside of hospitals trying to prevent women from getting mammograms?

The ad also said that Ayotte was fighting for better access to contraception. This is straight out of the Democrats' playbook. Does a single woman in America have trouble getting access to contraception? It's available at every drugstore in America. This is the kind of scare tactics we'd expect in a Hillary Clinton ad, not an ad for a Republican.

Now, Ayotte didn't put this ad up. Karl Rove and his big business backers did. But Ayotte is just as much to blame as if she did. Because she has nothing else to campaign on. What is she going to say, that for six years she did nothing to fight Obamacare, illegal aliens, the Iran Deal, or anything else Obama wanted? How many filibusters did she stage to try to stop or at least bring attention to any of these issues? How many press conferences did she hold to bring attention to these causes? Zero, I think.

So since she has nothing to campaign on, all she is left with, like Hillary Clinton, is the fact that she is a woman. When she starts running her own ads, she will have nothing to say about her record, so she'll have to make up things about protecting access to birth control. Maybe Ayotte will introduce a bill requiring drugstores to set aside pink parking spaces for women so they can get that hard-to-access birth control that every one is talking about.

My previous question about Ayotte, whether she deserved to be reelected, can be asked again. When I see ads like this, my doubts only increase.

Harry Reid, beaten to a pulp, suing exercise machine company

If you were beaten to a pulp, lost an eye and had your ribs broken, wouldn't you want to pursue justice against the one responsible? Harry Reid does. After being badly beaten up "by his exercise machine", he is suing for his injuries. Here's exactly how it happened (unless it happened in a completely different way):

Bobby Jindal's tax plan is head and shoulders better than Trump's

Bobby Jindal seems a long shot to get the GOP nomination. One wonders if he'll even still be in the race this time next week. But he has released a tax reform plan which is quite good and highlights a key flaw in Donald Trump's tax plan, so it is worth talking about.

Is Mark Levin getting his own TV Show?

Mark Levin has been asking listeners for months if they would like the idea of his getting his own TV show. Now he's been repeating that he is going to have a "big announcement" in January. It doesn't take a degree from Harvard (which, actually, I have) to conclude that there might be a connection between the two.

Ted Cruz's passion problem

Ted Cruz questioned the head of the Sierra Club, Aaron Mair, in a committee hearing where he confronted him about the data concerning global warming. Cruz asked Mair about the fact that satellite data has shown no global warming for 18 years. Mair responded by saying he agreed with 97% of scientists who said global warming was real (which, by the way, is a totally false statistic). Cruz asked him if he would recant his statement if the facts showed Mair to be wrong. Mair simply repeated his 97% statement; in fact, that became the answer to every question Cruz asked.

Marco Rubio produces perspiration-free ad

Marco Rubio just produced a very very weird ad. He's all dressed up in a fancy suit and tie, and he looks like he's sitting in a Sears portrait studio, you know, the kind where you got a family photo as a kid. Except it's all dark, except for a giant, soft light focused on his face, giving his face a slightly foggy look reminiscent of the "vasoline cam" they used in Star Trek episodes to give women softer features.
