$400,000 soccer games meant to keep Minnesota Muslims from joining ISIS

A group has applied for $400,000 to run soccer games and other after school programs to discourage Somali Muslims in Minnesota from joining ISIS.

A community advocate who spends his days helping Somali families and a youth soccer coach who works to keep kids off the street are among the people lining up for a crack at federal and private funds aimed at stopping terror recruiting.

Friday was the deadline for applicants to request roughly $400,000 in money being administered by a nonprofit entity as part of Minnesota's efforts to stamp out violent extremism. Minneapolis' program, called Building Community Resilience, focuses on the state's large Somali community, which has been fertile ground for terrorism recruiters. More than 22 men have left the state since 2007 to join al-Shabab in Somalia, and roughly a dozen people have left in recent years to join militants in Syria.

Minnesota U.S. Attorney Andy Luger said he's excited about the program's progress and he's trying to get additional funding, both federal and private. He pointed to a bill Obama signed into law in December that includes $50 million for efforts that combat terrorism as a possible source. Luger noted that $10 million of that appropriation is specifically for states' efforts to prevent violent extremism, though it's not yet known how much of that money will flow to Minnesota.

How many messed up things can you see from this situation?

1) We imported large numbers of Somali Muslims into Minnesota.

2) Significant numbers have joined al-Shabab and ISIS. ("More than 22"... I'm betting that means more than 23. Maybe even more than 24.)

3) We are funding anti-terrorism efforts to fight a problem we created by #1 above.

4) The anti-terrorism money is being directed to host soccer games for potential terrorists.

5) The idea behind this seems to be that potential terrorists, kept busy kicking soccer balls, will not want to decapitate Christians.

6) It somehow costs hundreds of thousands of dollars for terrorist sympathizers to play soccer.

As we bring more and more of these refugees in, do you think we will have to radically increase our soccer budget to keep up with the appeal of radical Islam for these "refugees"?

Say goodbye to Jeb, John, Mike, Ben, Rand, Mike, Carly, Chris, Rick, (and Jim!)

It's now a three man race--Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and Marco Rubio. Ted Cruz won in Iowa, but the key result was Marco Rubio in third place. It was expected that Rubio, the main establishment candidate in Iowa, would run a distant third, giving Jeb, Kasich, or Christie a chance to surge in New Hampshire.

To prove he is a religious man, Donald Trump held up a copy of a bible--his mother's bible. He said that holding up his mother's bible shows he is religious, although Trump has never spoken at length about his religious convictions, though he has spoken about his sins, bragging about bedding married women and boasting he has nothing to ask for forgiveness about.
