Multi-millionaire baseball player quits because he can't bring his child to work every day

If you were making 13 million dollars a year to inject steroids in your buttocks and occasionally catch a baseball, would you quit your job if your boss said you couldn't bring your kid to work each and every day?

So why in the world did Adam LaRoche decide to retire and walk away from his $13 million salary in 2016? The reason might make a lot of folks cringe — especially those associated with the Chicago White Sox.

FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal reports LaRoche was unhappy that White Sox President Ken Williams told him he had to limit the time his 14-year-old son, Drake, spent with the team.

"I asked Adam, said, 'Listen, our focus, our interest, our desire this year is to make sure we give ourselves every opportunity to focus on a daily basis on getting better. All I'm asking you to do with regard to bringing your kid to the ballpark is dial it back.'

"I don't think he should be here 100 percent of the time - and he has been here 100 percent, every day, in the clubhouse. I said that I don't even think he should be here 50 percent of the time. Figure it out, somewhere in between.

"We all think his kid is a great young man. I just felt it should not be every day, that's all. You tell me, where in this country can you bring your child to work every day?

LaRoche, 36, hit just .207/.293/.340 with 12 homers and 44 RBI in 2015,€“ his first season with the White Sox. Statistically, it was the worst season of his 12-year major-league career.

Late Wednesday night, ESPN's Pedro Gomez reported that LaRoche had signed his retirement papers, effectively ending his career.

What a nut. He felt he had the right to bring his kid to work every day. He had no consideration for his other team members, who perhaps didn't want the distraction of children in their workspace. And then the nut quits, so he can spend 24/7 with his kid.

I feel sorry for the kid, who will grow up over-smothered with affection.

Liberals promoting abortion shocked by infanticide

When liberals are absolutists on abortion, as they often are, they are basically promoting the "right" to abortion until the moment of birth, for whatever reason. In light of that culture they promote, they shouldn't be shocked when the logical next step after that is infanticide. After all, if a mother kills her child immediately upon birth, for liberals it's simply an abortion that's a little later than usual, right?

If you want to know why Amazon.com is opening bookstores, don't ask the NYT

There are lazy articles and there are laaaaaazy articles. This one is one of the latter kind. New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield, whose main job seems to be rewriting press releases put out by tech giants, was set to the task of finding out why Amazon.com is opening brick and mortar bookstores. A traditional article would investigate and report. But Wingfield was too laaaaazy to write an article, so all he was reprint a chat he had with some chick named Alexandra Alter. Is Alter an independent expert in the field?
