Belgium blaming itself, not Islam, for bombings

Belgium, examining the causes of the radical Islamic bombing attacks, squarely places the blame on itself, not radical Islam.

Yves Goldstein makes no excuses for Belgium’s failure to find Salah Abdeslam and the other Islamic State recruits who attacked Paris and then bombed Brussels Airport and a subway station.

The problem is not Islam, he insists, but the negligence of government officials like himself in allowing self-contained ethnic ghettos to grow unchallenged, breeding anger, crime and radicalism among youth — a soup of grievances that suits Islamist recruiters.

What is it that is breeding anger, crime, and radicalism? It's Islam.

Friends who teach the equivalent of high school seniors in the predominantly Muslim districts of Molenbeek and Schaerbeek told him that “90 percent of their students, 17, 18 years old, called them heroes,” he said.

Islam is the problem. Note I did not say radical Islam. When 90% of Muslims support bombings, the problem is with a substantial portion of Islamists.

As for the terrorists, “religion for them is a pretext,” he said. “They believe in nothing. But Islam is the way they find to express, to crystallize their radicalization.”

So again, it's not really Islam's fault. It never is, for apologists like Goldstein.

“We have to fight racism and discrimination with the same force” as radicalization, he said, because “our society gives to these young people a bad idea of who and what they are.”

It's all about discrimination. If they didn't feel discriminated against, they wouldn't blow themselves up, right? This guy is an apologist for militant Islam, and his views are an example of why Europeans have voted for governments which have brought this on themselves, by letting all these Muslims into their countries.

Has Donald Trump cheated veterans out of 3.6 million dollars?

Remember the time that Trump skipped the debate, not because he was afraid of being questioned by Megyn Kelly, but because he decided he wanted to hold a fundraiser for veterans on that particular night? Trump crowed he raised 6 million dollars for them. To date, two months later, only 2.4 million has been disbursed. Do you think the rest is being used to finance some new Trump golf course/resort somewhere?

Why Ted Cruz is campaigning in Brooklyn and the Bronx

Ted Cruz was campaigning in the Bronx and Brooklyn today. You may be wondering why. There aren't too many Republicans there. But that's the point. Delegates in New York are largely awarded by congressional district. A candidate can win the same number of delegates in a district in the Bronx as one on Long Island, even if the district in the Bronx has only a handful of Republicans.

Up to 75% of Trump delegates may be Ted Cruz supporters

There has been one article after the other in the press how delegates who are pledged to Donald Trump may actually be Ted Cruz supporters. That's because in many states the allocation of delegates is divorced from the actual voting. Say Trump wins 50% of the delegates in South Carolina. The voters do not actually pick the delegates, the South Carolina Republican party does. It picks delegates who promise to vote for Trump, but only on the first ballot. So what many state parties are doing is picking delegates who will vote for Trump on the first ballot, but on the second ballot, when they are free, will vote for Ted Cruz.
