Ben Carson should apologize for deceiving Republican primary voters

Ben Carson's spokesman made an extraordinary statement yesterday. He said that Carson has turned down a cabinet level post in the Trump administration because he was not qualified to be a cabinet secretary.

Business manager and close friend Armstrong Williams said Carson won't join the incoming Trump administration and would only serve as an unofficial adviser.

"Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he's never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency."

So Ben Carson was fine running for President but feels he can't run a cabinet level agency? If true, that's an admission that his entire presidential campaign was fraudulent.

I liked some of his policy views, but some things about him always struck me as odd:

1) His views that the Egyptian pyramids were used to store grain.

2) His views on how to deal with the immigration crisis was to wait until he was elected President and then "ask the American people what they want." He didn't have any opinions of his own?

3) Carson supported the Corker amendment which circumvented a vote on the Iran treaty, claiming Corker's amendment gave the Senate even more power, when it gave less.

4) Carson believed the deregulation of the financial markets caused the housing bubble, when it was the intense regulations of the housing market which was actually to blame.

5) He has an odd painting of himself being embraced by a "black" Jesus with a Klingon forehead.

6) He made up a bizarre story about stabbing a friend, claiming the knife deflected by his friend's belt buckle.

7) When asked questions during debates, he sometimes gave the impression of being "out of ammo" like Admiral Stockdale.

As one of 17 candidates in a crowded field, he wasted time that could have been allocated to legitimate candidates. If he really feels he was unqualified to start with, he should issue an apology to the American people.

Hate crimes against Muslims rises to slightly above zero

The Muslims-are-victims propaganda mill has been operating in overtime ever since Donald Trump won the presidential election. Not a day passes without a story about a young Muslim child being told that Donald Trump hates Muslims and their lives will be full of discrimination and hatred. Continuing with that theme, the media has breathlessly reported a 67% increase in hate crimes against Muslims in 2015. That's a big increase! That probably means the absolute number of alleged hate crimes against Muslims must be some huge number, like... 50,000? 20,000? 10,000? At least 5,000?

Stephen Bannon appointment triggers surge of Whiteophobia

Stephen Bannon's appointment as Chief Strategist for Donald Trump has triggered a disturbing surge of Whiteophobia in the media. Whiteophobia is the irrational fear of white people, and the fear that white people might do you harm, even in a white majority country where Asian and African-like massacres, rapes, and genocide are unknown; even in a country where tens of millions of non-white immigrants flood through the borders; even in a country where white rulers have been doing their best for decades to make America as non-white as possible thorugh unchecked immigration.

Why Obama's legacy is so easily reversible

It brings a smile to my face to read one article after another detailing how President Obama's legacies can be so easily undone by Donald Trump. The reason why so many of Obama's initiatives can be undone is because so many of them were done without authorizing legislation. Obama acted unilaterally and the Congress, composed of timid Republicans, never mustered up the courage to object.

Remember Merrick Garland, the judge President Obama nominated for the Supreme Court? Back in March, Republican said they would not consider the nomination because it came too late in Obama's term to be considered, and they would leave it to the next President to choose a nominee.

I was struck how Donald Trump, in his first ever meeting with President Obama, remarked how he was supposed to have met with Obama for only 15 minutes but actually met with him for an hour and a half. What, I wonder, did they talk about? We'll never know for sure, but here's what I think Obama said to Trump:

For a long time I've been critical of the Muslim community, much of whom seems to revel in victimhood status even when it's clear that they are not the victims of anything. Meanwhile a substantial number of their coreligionists are slaughtering people by the thousands, including, from time to time, Americans, and they don't seem to have any public opinions about that.

Under Sharia Law, unrelated men are not allowed to touch veiled women (unless they are sex slaves being raped, or women being beaten for walking outside the home, or women having their clitorises cut off). You can therefore understand why Sharia-compliant hijabis are outraged at being pat down by the TSA when they go to board planes.
