NYT, down on Trump's "sexual harassment", reinstates sexual harassing reporter

Glenn Thrush is a senior White House reporter for the New York Times. You know he's an odd guy simply by looking at him because he always wears a hat indoors.

Glenn Thrush was accused of sexually harassing a bunch of women at the New York Times. The Times investigated, found him guilty, and... is keeping him on staff.

Here's one account from a writer at the hard-left news site Vox:

He slid into my side of the booth, blocking me in. I was wearing a skirt, and he put his hand on my thigh. He started kissing me. I pulled myself together and got out of there, shoving him on my way out.

And here's more:

Three young women I interviewed, including the young woman who met Thrush in June, described to me a range of similar experiences, from unwanted groping and kissing to wet kisses out of nowhere to hazy sexual encounters that played out under the influence of alcohol. Each woman described feeling differently about these experiences: scared, violated, ashamed, weirded out.

(Although Vox is a hard-left news site, it also tries to be "hip", using words like "weirded out" to appeal to young people who are inarticulate.)

The Times will assign him to a new beat when he returns, executive editor Dean Baquet announced on Wednesday. [He was a White House reporter].

Thrush will also receive “training designed to improve his workplace conduct,” according to the email sent to staff by Baquet.

The article also said that Thrush is some kind of drug addict, that he's getting "substance abuse treatment"; maybe that's why the Times is keeping him on, because he has a reliable dealer.

But whatever the reason they are keeping him on, The Times finds that he did sexually harass women, but they are not firing him for it. Instead, they are simply reassigning him to another beat.

Now the Times is a publication that has criticized President Trump repeatedly for allegedly sexually harassing women. And now, after investigating one of its own reporters and finding him guilty of sexual harassment, they are keeping him on. It shows a suspicious double standard.

Thrush, by the way, was the reporter who wrote articles about Hillary Clinton, clearing articles with her before publication. Maybe there was collusion? After all, we don't know where Thrush got his drugs from. I'm not saying he got the drugs from the Clinton campaign, but don't you think we need a special counsel to investigate Thrush's collusion with the Clinton campaign? Perhaps the Justice Department could appoint someone as impartial to Thrush as Robert Mueller is towards President Trump. I understand that Donald Trump Jr. is available.

Questions for discussion:

1) Thrush is being transferred off the White House beat. What do you think his new job will be? Would you read a weather report if you knew it had been written by Glenn Thrush?

2) We are told that Thrush will be "trained", like a cocker spaniel, perhaps. What sort of training will Thrush receive? Will he learn how not to kiss coworkers or how not to touch their thighs? How do you train someone not to kiss other people?

3) Do you think that, like Al Franken, the Times waited to see if Roy Moore was elected before deciding the fate of Glenn Thrush?

4) Given Thrush's drug addiction, should the DEA be interested in searching his ever-present hat?

Find out how liberal your federal circuit court is

A lot of attention is paid to the ideological balance of the Supreme Court, which is the ultimate arbiter of too many things in America nowadays. But the Supreme Court can only afford to hear a small number of cases. Most cases don't make it past the various circuit courts of appeal, and so the ideological makeup of these courts is important as well. Unfortunately, over eight years Obama has been packing them with leftists as much as he could. And yet, some circuit courts have better partisan balances than others. Here, then, is a list:
