Utah agrees not to detain illegal aliens

"In the latest sign that the anti-immigrant sentiment has faded in conservative Utah, state officials agreed Tuesday to scrap three key provisions in its controversial 2011 immigration law and limit another in a settlement with the American Civil Liberties Union.

Among the provisions of Utah's law that will be permanently blocked under the agreement:

? Allowing warrantless arrests based solely on suspicion of immigration status.

? Making it a state crime to harbor a person in the country illegally.

? A measure banning local entities from putting restrictions on police investigating certain immigration offenses."

Great news! Utah will no longer attempt to detain illegal aliens!

"Utah's population of people who are in the U.S. illegally has held steady at 95,000 to 100,000 since 2005, the Pew Research Center estimates."

--So what's the problem, the article suggests. That's only 100,000 people. Let's say only 50% are illegally on welfare. That's 50,000. Let's say only 10% have committed violent crime. That's only 10,000 criminals. So why should we be concerned with that?

The perversion here is immense, we are once again conveying immunity to a class of people who have broken the law by coming here and broken the law again by going on welfare, failing to pay taxes, committing social security fraud, and committing violent crimes.

"Immigrant advocates cheered the settlement as a victory, calling it a fair compromise."--They got everything they wanted, I'm sure they did!

"The storm has passed," said Tony Yapias, immigration reform advocate and director of Proyecto Latino de Utah. "The last couple of years in the state Legislature, we didn't see any anti-immigration bills."

---No, you idiot, it's not an anti-immigration bill, it's an anti-illegal immigration bill. But the left makes no distinction.

Thank you, American Criminal Liberties Union!

Since the grand jury didn't indict the policeman who defended himself when he was brutally attacked by Michael Brown, there is naturally rioting in Ferguson as angry people seek justice for yet another of the 7% of black murder victims who aren't murdered by other blacks. The following areas are being especially hard hit:

Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani says that the media focusing on the Ferguson, Missouri grand jury should spend more attention on why white police officers are in black neighborhoods to start with.

"I find it very disappointing that you're not discussing the fact that 93 percent of blacks in America are killed by other blacks," Giuliani said Sunday on "Meet the Press."

The case of white police officers killing blacks are the exception rather that the rule, he said.

"We are talking about the significant exception," Giuliani said. (newsmax)
