Libtards at Vox: What voter ID problem?

Loyola University law professor Justin Levitt tried to quantify the epidemic of voter ID fraud that's forcing so many states to pass restrictive voter ID laws. He looked for not only cases where someone was convicted, but tracked "any specific, credible allegation that someone may have pretended to be someone else at the polls, in any way that an ID law could fix."

Out of roughly a billion votes cast, he found 31 credible cases of voter ID fraud. And that is, he thinks, an overestimate.

Only 31 cases out of a billion votes!!! Obviously not a problem, right?

First of all, this:only 31 cases" is a lie. Yes, an out and out lie, like the assertion that "The debate is over. You cannot argue against global warming". Just think about the hundred of fraudulent voter registrations that ACORN alone did. And that was just one case.

The bigger problem with this libtard argument is that we can't know truly how many cases of voter fraud there are since most states don't require ID. If you don't check for ID, how can you ever know if there is fraud? That's like not requiring people to show ID to buy beer, and then asserting, "Well, since we didn't ask for ID, we didn't catch any underage drinkers." And the libtards at Vox are remarkably uncurious about this.

I wonder why?

WashCompost upset Obama not releasing more drug dealers from jail

President Obama granted 12 pardons and 8 commutations on Wednesday. The pardons, given mostly to people who had served out their sentences long ago, were for a variety of mostly minor offenses ranging from "working a distillery on which the required sign is not placed" to "manufacture of marijuana" to wire fraud.

LA Times puzzled why San Diego has gang trouble

San Diego, for reasons unclear, has the most gang involvement in the underground commercial sex industry. Twenty-two suspected gang members and associates are suspected of running a multi-state prostitution ring.

With drugs and weapons becoming riskier business ventures because of more aggressive law enforcement, gangs have moved into prostitution. The money is easy and the Internet and social media have replaced streetwalking and red-light zones as an effective method of attracting johns, officials said.

"It's absolutely an epidemic, not just in San Diego but across the country," said Robert Howe, assistant special agent in the San Diego office of the FBI.

The San Diego region, for reasons that are unclear, appears to be a dubious leader in this new trend.

Vox reports fewer criminals in jail, but remarkably uncurious about one small detail

There are fewer Americans in prison, jail, probation, or parole than any time since 2003, Vox reports.

The number of Americans in prison, jail, parole, or probation dropped to less than 6.9 million in 2013, down 41,500 compared to 2012 and hitting the lowest point since 2003, according to a report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Until 2008, the corrections population had been steadily growing for decades as all levels of government enforced tough-on-crime policies — particularly against drug offenses — that tied up more people in the criminal justice system. But states and the federal government, facing budget constraints brought on in part by the cost of maintaining large prison populations, began pushing reforms that reduced penalties for nonviolent offenders and diverted more people to punishments besides incarceration.
