Game of Thrones features strong pro-life message

The main character in Game of Thrones is Jon Snow, supposedly the illegimate child of Eddard Stark. But it is a very, very open secret that Snow is in actuality the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, the latter being the son of the King and first in line to the throne.

Rhaegar reportedly raped Lyanna, producing Jon. Now, Lyanna could have had an abortion. In Westeros they have a kind of morning after pill called "moon tea"; you take it after you have sex and it gives you an abortion.

But she didn't, choosing instead to give birth to Jon. Although she was raped she realized Jon was an innocent and not responsible. By giving birth to him rather than having a moon tea abortion, she allowed a child to be born who could become king of all the realm and bring peace to the world. This has tremendous symbolism. Every time a child is aborted, we never know what great things the child could have done. But in Game of Thrones, they vividly show by not having an abortion, a great future king is created who is able to save the realm. And if Lyanna had had an abortion, it is clear that zombies from the north would have come down and eaten everyones' brains, because only Jon Snow was able to stop them.

Now, I can understand women wanting abortions in the case of rape, and I am not saying it should be outlawed in such situations. But it is nice to see at least an argument being made for people to choose life, even in such harrowing situations.

GOT is very popular among liberals; they love all the nudity, kinky sex, homosexual anal sex, incest etc. But I wonder what Leftists would think of it if they became aware that it also contained a strong pro-life message?

CA ballot initiative would keep boys out of girls' bathrooms

A group called Privacy for All is trying to get enough signatures to create a ballot initiative in California that would prevent boys from going into girls bathrooms and locker rooms, even if the boys wiggled when they walked and talked in high-pitched feminine voices.

Welcome to rent control! 88,000 apply for 55 apartments

88,000 people (so far) have applied for 55 low-rent apartments in a fancy new condominium building on Manhattan's upper west side. The lucky few could get a two bedroom apartment for less than $1100 a month in the West 60's of Manhattan. To get tax breaks, developers of luxury buildings make some units available at below market rent rates, and this is what happened here.

The funniest question for each of the Republican candidates

The Republican so-called "candidates" are going to New Hampshire this weekend. I say so-called because we all know that many of them like George Pataki and Lindsey Graham have no chance of winning the nomination. How to legally bribe Andrew Cuomo

Have you ever wondered how to bribe New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and to do it legally, without incurring any consequences? One way to do it is to ask the Governor to write a book and to give him a tremendous advance. Although I'm not calling it a bribe, that's what publisher HarperCollins just happened to do, paying Cuomo $575,000 to write a self-congratulatory book entitled "All Things Possible: Setbacks and Success in Politics and Life", detailing what a great governor and human being he is (obviously, they didn't interview his ex-wife). The book, which is rated "one star" out of five on Amazon, the lowest rating, has only sold 3,000 copies in hardcover.

President Obama has removed Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, even though Cuba supports the terrorist FARC group in Columbia and has close ties with dictatorial leftist regimes like Venezuela. But that started me thinking.
