Medical marijuana found to be best treatment for marijuana addiction

A new study has come out studying the medicinal benefits of pot:

Twenty-three states and Washington, D.C. have laws permitting medical marijuana use. Medical marijuana has not been proven to work for many illnesses that state laws have approved it for, according to the first comprehensive analysis of research on its potential benefits.

The strongest evidence is for chronic pain and for muscle stiffness in multiple sclerosis, according to the review, which evaluated 79 studies involving more than 6,000 patients. Evidence was weak for many other conditions, including anxiety, sleep disorders, and Tourette's syndrome and the authors recommend more research. An editorial in the journal says approval in many states has been based on poor quality studies, patients' testimonials or other nonscientific evidence.

I find this very hard to believe! Twenty three states wouldn't approve marijuana for medical use if it didn't have some medical benefit!

For one thing, marijuana works perfectly in treating addiction to marijuana. People addicted to pot who take pot lose their cravings for it. Of course, you have to keep taking your medicine to prevent the cravings from coming back, but as long as you take it on a very regular basis you will not have cravings for marijuana. That's a medical fact!

There are many other medicinal benefits to marijuana as well:

1) It helps anorexics and picky eaters.

2) It helps people cope with excessive calmness and overwhelming feelings of harmony.

3) It can help reduce sex drive, a useful treatment for nymphomaniacs and necrophiliacs.

4) It can help make foreign films, art exhibits, and museum lectures more bearable.

Do you think these disclosures about marijuana will cause states to change their laws to revoke its use for medicinal purposes? Or do you think that instead states will conduct long-term 20 year studies with large populations of 50,000 or more pot users to more conclusively determine the benefits of marijuana?

I also like how even while these states legalize marijuana, it's still illegal under federal law, but Obama ordered the Justice Department not to prosecute it (it's perfectly legal--it's "prosecutorial discretion"!). Obama always tells us what to eat or drink; if he's not enforcing the pot laws, there must be some benefit to it, right?

And I think we're just scratching the surface with pot. If marijuana has medicinal effects, why not cocaine? You may laugh, but would you really be surprised one day to read that California has legalized "medicinal cocaine"? I wouldn't.

And what about medicinal heroin? And what about medicinal crystal meth? Do you think it can help people lose unwanted weight in their face, and help people who want to make their teeth more prominent when they smile?

Of the four major candidates for the Republican Presidential nomination, which one does not support Obamatrade? Obamatrade is a secret piece of legislation (!) we think would give President Obama special powers ostensibly to negotiate a free trade deal, but in reality which may allow him to do all sorts of things like expanding his illegal amnesty.

Global Warming causing hot dogs to slip out of buns

We know that global warming is a big threat. Oh, it may help us with our Mummy problem, and be a boon for great tits, but it causes more problems than it solves, everything from shrinking horses, causing seals to be oversexed, poison ivy to become even itchier, making trees less colorful, making trees more colorful, making reptiles walk uphill, destroying opium in Afghanistan, and is even predicted to increase cannibalism to unacceptable levels, with that last prediction courtesy of former CNN founder and exotic diner Ted Turner.

A prayer to soothe God's anger with our global warming recklessness

I read with great interest about the Pope's focus on imaginary global warming. I admire the way he is able to tune out small distractions, like the tens of thousands of people, many of them Christians, being slaughtered by radical Muslims in the Middle East, to focus on the truly big issues affecting our planet. And then the New York Times today published an article talking about how protestant Christians are also concerned with the speed in which imaginary global warming is destroying our planet.

The funniest guide to Politically Correct behavior ever!

The University of California published a guide to microaggressions. If you don't know what that is, microaggressions are ordinary, unoffensive comments and actions that offend feminists and minority "activists" with chips on their shoulders. Because this is such a big problem in the minds of liberals, UC has published an unintentionally hysterical guide to microaggressive behavior. What follows is a list of microagggresive behaviors, exactly as written, and then my own interpretation of what would not be microaggressive alternatives:

It' s time to ban a certain hate-filled flag

I'm a big fan of the first amendment. I don't like the idea of outlawing speech. But if the media says that some form of speech is a problem, then I think we should immediately ban it. I'm thinking in particular of one hate-filled flag that incites violence among many people, especially in the south. If a flag is a cause of such violence, shouldn't we ban it?

Do minorities disproportionately fail the death penalty IQ test because of racist tests?

There are a lot of claims about how supposedly objective tests discriminate against minorities. Most recently there are claims that tests for teachers have too many "white questions". Now the Supreme Court has ruled that killers must have a certain minimum IQ to be executed.

Court: doctors can give abortions via skype

There's a lot of limitations on what we can do, like eating food with transfat, or drinking soda in large cups, but the government places these limitations benevolently because its concerned for our health. That's why we can't pick insurance plans with only the health coverage we want any more. But when it comes to abortions, however, anything goes. If you want your babies brain suctioned, drilled, fried, or scrambled, there's a veritable IHOP menus of ways to end your pregnancy. In light of this an Iowa court has decided that doctors can administer some abortions via video conferencing.
