Elizabeth Warren's analysis of the GOP conservatives can agree with

Elizabeth Warren took to the Senate floor to bemoan a lack of increase in the minimum wage, saying that unskilled teenagers are clearly worth $15 an hour (plus benefits). Having run many successful businesses during her career as a law school professor, she surely knows what she's talking about.

But then she said something really brilliant about Republicans that I truly do agree with:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) rolled out a fresh attack against Republicans on Tuesday: They're wasting huge amounts of time.

Pointing to recent GOP efforts to defund the Department of Homeland Security and Planned Parenthood and to attach abortion legislation to a human trafficking bill, among other examples, Warren said Republicans were spending their time chewing through partisan menu items that went nowhere.

"In the past six months, they have burned huge amounts of time as they try to shut down Homeland Security, tried to build a pipeline to help a Canadian oil company, tried to turn a human trafficking bill into a referendum on abortion and now tried to defund Planned Parenthood," Warren said.

Warren is so correct. The GOP has wasted huge amounts of time on bills that go no where. They spend days debating and pushing bills to defund the abortion mills, to stop amnesty, and to eliminate Obamacare, but these bills go nowhere because the Republicans make them standalone pieces of legislation that require 60 votes in the Senate (which they never get).

However, if Republicans were serious, they would pass these bills as amendments to budget legislation, or must pass legislation to raise the debt ceiling, which could be done in the Senate with only 51 votes. And Obama would have a hard time vetoing them because then he, Obama, would be responsible for shutting down the government.

But Republicans don't do that so Warren is right that they are wasting their time.

"So what have Republicans done over the past six months to try to make families a little more secure, to give people a fighting chance? What have they done?"

Nothing. Spot on, Warren!

After making the case for her favored policies, the Massachusetts Democrat suggested Republicans were not pursuing such proposals because they were too busy helping lobbyists, oil companies, bankers and other wealthy, well-connected interests.

Very true! They're busy funding the Export-Import bank, pretending to oppose the Iran deal but secretly supporting it because of business interests, and supporting amnesty for illegals because again, that is what big business wants. And by the way Warren, also knows something about the big business interests of which she speaks, since she also voted to reauthorized the IM Bank.

Of course, Warren is criticizing the GOP from the perspective of one who wants them to impose even more state control over the economy. But her analysis is 100% accurate when she talks about how Republicans are wasting time doing nothing. If only other Republicans besides Ted Cruz and Mike Lee would start to say the same.

The smart way to hold the Republican debates

If there's a dumb way that Republicans can do something, you can trust they will. That goes not just for their so-called strategy for opposing Obama, or getting out their views, but even to the machinery of the Republican Party which schedules and organizes the Presidential primary debates.

How many lies can you find in a short article about a gas tax increase?

Washington State is raising its gas tax to the second highest in the nation, after Pennsylvania (way to go, Pennsylvania!). Admittedly, Washington state has no income tax, but it has a relatively high (6.5%) sales tax. But just because taxes are going up doesn't mean we can't have some fun! Have a look at the following article. It's a short article, but contains one lie after another. How many misrepresentations and out and out lies can you spot?

Liberals say probation is too much punishment for drunk driving

First the liberals talked about releasing "low level" offenders (drug dealers, among others). Then they talked about abolishing jails. Now even probation is too harsh, even for drunk driving.

Now that "marriage" has no meaning, can Woody Allen rehabilitate himself?

You may think that the success of the gay marriage movement has nothing to do with Woody Allen, who married his de-facto step daughter. But the two are very much linked. For hundreds of years (if not longer) marriage has meant one man, and one woman. Nothing else, no more, no less. Then, all of a sudden, without any historical or other justification, marriage can now also mean a man and a man, or a woman and a woman. There's no rationale for it. All we know is that marriage, formerly one thing, can now be one of three things.

Liberals: from now on, men can have vaginas and women can have penises

Liberals have decided that transsexuals no longer have to go through with sex change operations in order to switch their genders. In the past transvestites had to play a game, which is to say that they were "transitioning", that is, if they were a man, they were wearing a dress and growing long hair, but they hadn't had surgery to mutiliate their body parts yet, but would soon. Sometime. In the future. You know, a time that's later. Just not now.

Hillary finally gives voters a reason to support her: her deceased mother

Hillary is about to launch an ad blitz! Unfortunately, she's accomplished very little as a Senator so can't talk about that. There is a lot to talk about during her stint as Secretary of State--but all of it is bad. So she needs to give voters a reason to vote for her, and at last, she's found one: her deceased mother!

In choosing their favorite sports team, people usually choose the team who takes showers in locker rooms physically closed to where they live. So if you live in Oakland, you like the Oakland Raiders, because they shower closer to you than other teams. If you're in New York, you like the Yankees, because their locker room toilets are closest to where you live as well. Even though most of these players do not come from the same location, people like it because the team is said to represent where they live.
