Walker, yesterday considering Canada border fence, today against it

Scott Walker yesterday said he was considering a fence on the border with Canada:

“Some people have asked us about that in New Hampshire. They raised some very legitimate concerns, including some law enforcement folks that brought that up to me at one of our town hall meetings about a week and a half ago. So that is a legitimate issue for us to look at,” Walker said about building a wall along the Canada-U.S. border.

Note the key phrase, "That is a legitimate issue for us to look at". Now Walker said he was misunderstood, and he wasn't considering it at all.

A spokeswoman for Walker's campaign said that he wasn't calling for a wall specifically, he was just expressing concern over the issue.

"Despite the attempts of some to put words in his mouth, Gov. Walker wasn't advocating for a wall along our northern border. Chuck asked about it and Gov. Walker said based on what he's hearing from people there are security concerns that need to be addressed," AshLee Strong said to POLITICO.

Every candidate makes a slip of the tongue from time to time, especially given the stress of running for President. But Scott Walker does it all the time. He's had more back and forths on immigration than all the other candidates combined, even more than Donald Trump, who at least can stay consistent for a whole week.. On birthright citizenship alone Walker had three positions--no, maybe, and yes--all in less than a week.
From reading the comments I see many readers have changed positions too--many of you used to support Scott Walker, and now no longer.

It is no longer an issue of whether it is ridiculous to call for a border fence with Canada when the main trouble is with Mexico; it is no longer an issue of whether Walker is tough enough on immigration or not. If you believe everything he says, that he's being consistent throughout, then we are left with one conclusion: he is incapable of speaking clearly. That, I think, disqualifies him from being the nominee.
Scott Walker has been great for Wisconsin. I think he should go back there and stay there. Clearly, very very much so, he isn't ready for primetime.

What happens when Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina are compared head to head?

I don't understand why Carly Fiorina has so much buzz. Katie Couric, one of the high priestesses of the global warming religion, separately interviewed both her and Ted Cruz about it, and the contrast couldn't be more different.

Hillary's growth plan displays stunning autism of economic reality

The sad thing about people who have autism is that by the nature of their illness many do not even realize they have it. There is a total level of self-awareness that is simply missing. That's what I think about when I read about Hillary Clinton's grand plan for the economy on her website. She proudly writes about her plan to make our economy grow in big bold fonts, but anyone with even the most casual understanding of economics would be embarrassed to write what she did. That's why I call her plan a clear example of "economic autism", a clear inability to relate to and understand the laws of economics.

Why is Scott Walker's campaign floundering?

There's a long article in the Washington Post talking about why Scott Walker's campaign is floundering. Don't bother reading it, it's full of double talk about listening too much to consultants, not letting Walker be Walker, etc. But one useful fact is that Walker is now tied for third (and fourth) place in Iowa with Ted Cruz at 8%. Not so good for Ted, but devastating for Walker who was #1 not too long ago and is from a border state. If he can't win Iowa, he's not going to win anywhere.
