Trump should disregard clearly unconstitutional court orders|
The federal courts are making a power grab early in President Trump's term. Trump's executive order, a temporary entry ban from seven dangerous countries, was modest in scope, and had ample precedent: Obama had temporarily stopped immigration from Iraq, and Jimmy Carter from Iran. Historically the President has been given a very wide latitude when it comes to matters of national security, and the decision of who to let into our country is clearly a national security matter.
And yet Judge James Robart made a radical move to reopen our borders to all these people from chaotic, ISIS infested places like Iraq, Yemen, and Syria, potentially putting American lives in danger. President Trump is appealing, but it will take a while for the appeal to wind its way through the Ninth Circuit and probably the Supreme Court. Judge Robart's reason is totally nonsensical, that the people of Washington state and Minnesota will suffer if people from the Sudan and Yemen aren't allowed to enter the country. The exact opposite is true.
That's why President Trump should label this decision an illegitimate, unconstitutional power grab, and disregard it. He can continue to appeal it, but make it clear that he is not going to comply with the restraining order, even temporarily.
Because, win or lose, the matter will not stop here. Trump's executive order is mild. He's going to have to issue a lot more substantive orders in the months to come. If Trump gives in to the politicized judiciary on this, they will smell blood in the water and challenge his later decisions.
Let's say that Trump actually wants to have a permanent ban on refugees from Syria or Iraq, for security reasons. A court could overturn it on the same grounds. Suppose Trump wants to stop all refugees coming to America for a year. A court could actually force Trump to let 100,000 or more refugees in, if Trump lets them. A court could stop Trump from doing enhanced vetting, claiming it discriminated against Muslims from ISIS infested countries. A court also stop Trump's border wall, claiming it would have a negative effect on a snail or a worm.
That's why Trump can't give in on his relatively limited executive order. If he does, he will give the courts a green light to keep America an open borders country.
Liberals will immediately claim that Trump is precipitating a constitutional crisis. But it is the courts which are precipitating such a crisis, by overreaching and claiming power of the executive branch for their own. When Obama was president and he chose not to enforce immigration law, federal courts were fine with it (Arizona vs. US). But when Trump is president and he chooses more stringent regulations, suddenly the courts feel they should have a veto power.
Courts don't have power to actually compel the executive to do anything. They can issue contempt citations but Trump can ignore those as well, if they are based on an illegal ruling. The only check, constitutionally speaking, on the president is impeachment by the congress, and that will never happen. Trump will take a lot of criticism for standing up to the courts, but this is what people elected him to do. If he stands up and makes it clear the courts are engaged in an illegal power grab, and that he is acting to protect the country as he promised when elected, public opinion will turn against the courts and they will be forced to back down.
Defying the courts is a very confrontational strategy, but they have engaged in an unconstitutional power grab and need to be called out for it. At a time when Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency, and still cannot put their own immigration controls in place, I think it is time to be confrontational. Otherwise elections won't matter and the media, the courts, and the bureaucracy will run the country into the ground regardless of who is elected to office.

The same liberal media called Reagan "war-monger" and Trump "accommodationist" on Russia

On trade and tariffs, Donald Trump is right and Mark Levin is wrong
Even brilliant people are occasionally wrong, which explains why conservative thinker Mark Levin is confused about the effect of tariffs. Levin has spent many shows, such as the one on Friday, excoriating the Trump administration's policies of imposing tariffs on imported goods.

John Kasich asking God's permission to challenge Trump in 2020
If you were thinking of challenging President Trump in the Republican primary in 2020, wouldn't you want to check with God first to see what he thought about it? That's John Kasich's position. When asked if he were going to challenge the President in 2020, Kasich said,

Lib Study: Illegals miss court dates due to confusion, mental illness, bad bus service
About 70% of illegal aliens who claim asylum never bother to show up for their court cases; they simply disappear "into the shadows" once they are released into the population. And no wonder, given that courts have found 80% of asylum cases to be bogus to begin with.
Libs who fear for planet afraid to throw out trash
The WaPo cast a spotlight on a liberal doomsday cult called the Zero Waste Movement, founded by someone named Bea Johnson, which fears that the planet will be destroyed if we throw out too much trash.
Only in Hollywood: White male director happy to be discriminated against
Robert Duncan McNeil was an actor on Star Trek Voyager but he also directed some episodes. He seemed like a natural, therefore, to direct an episode of the latest Star Trek series, Star Trek Discovery. But the show, which killed off its only white male heterosexual character last season, isn't on the market for white male directors, McNeil was told. But that's ok, because McNeil thinks its great to be discriminated against!
I agree with the HuffPo: reunite migrant kids with deported parents!
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. The Huffington Post doesn't quite make that admittedly low bar, but once in a while they do get it right. The HuffPo had an article about the plight of migrant kids separated from their parents. Of course, by migrant kids I mean "illegal alien children", but "migrant kids" sounds much more sympathetic!
Mark Levin: If stare decisis is paramount, put monkeys on the Supreme Court
Talk show host and constitutional scholar Mark Levin has been talking a lot this week about the philosophical arguments that are being made about Supreme Court nominees. Levin made the point that liberals are insisting that a nominee promise to slavishly follow stare decisis, or to obediently obey past cases that they like such as Roe v. Wade.
Help! How to update the Statue of Liberty for the era of illegal immigration?
A confused woman scaled the Statute of Liberty to protest the detention of illegal aliens. Well, she almost scaled it. She climbed to the base of the statue and then got tired and decided to take a small siesta there, not great optics for advocates who claim that illegal aliens are workers who come here to tirelessly pick our grapes and lettuce!
Will John McCain's selfishness torpedo Trump's Supreme Court nominee?
Republicans theoretically have a 51-49 majority in the Senate, but in practice it has been 50-49, since John McCain has left the Senate due to his brain cancer and shows no signs of returning. This makes it difficult for the Senate to pass legislation, of course, but since the Senate needs 60 votes for most matters, McCain's absence is not critical.
Liberal newsrooms should be gun free zones
We are all horrified by the shootings at the Maryland Capital Gazette. Unfortunately, some are going to use this occasion to call for people to be armed to defend themselves. I think it is wrong to politicize this tragedy, and I strongly believe that all liberal newsrooms should be gun-free zones.

Therefore, liberals want to shut the First Amendment down.

Libs demand more than $20 an hour delivering packages
How much is unskilled labor worth? For liberals, you might think the answer is an astronomical $15 an hour, the minimum wage many states have set, destroying jobs that cannot provide that much value. But for libs, $15 an hour is just the starting point. The Atlantic wrote a sob story about someone who took a part time job delivering packages for Amazon for $18 an hour (which would eventually go up to $25). Her anger, and indignation, explains what is wrong about the liberal entitlement mentality.
Illegal alien kids are unhappy having to recite the Pledge of Allegiance
Not a day goes by without some headline about the suffering of illegal alien kids, 99% of whom are eating and living better than they ever have in their lives, courtesy of the US taxpayer. Most of them were sent to America unaccompanied by adults so our tax dollars could take care of them. But apparently some kids are unhappy.
Racist Washington Post assails Trump for having white cabinet members
Racism and sexism are alive and well at the Washington Post. The WaPo showed a photo of Trump's cabinet debating the issue of illegal immigration and was offended by how many white men there were. In an article offensively entitled: "To solve his immigration crisis, Trump turns to a table of white men" the anti-white writer Eugene Scott wrote:
White town split into three parts to give American Indians control
The PBS NewsHour was excited to report about the political situation in San Juan County, Utah. The NewsHour claimed that the County had been gerrymandered so that the American Indians were relegated to only one of three county supervisor seats. And it is true that the American Indians are a majority of the population of the county. One district had 93% American Indians while the other two had 30% each.
